Vonage Visual

The ship pulled in to Korea today and I had a missed call from Glenn. Vonage sends me an email with the message now and it always cracks me up. I don't know if their voice recognition software is just terrible or Glenn mumbled or maybe a combination of both, but this is the completely (seriously) sober message I just received:

"Hey babe, it's me. Just calling to say hello. I'm here, it's 515 517. Yes we are going as far as going over to me later. I was calling before I end up throwing up on Skype. I know I can't make the proms any longer. So yeah College I call you later tonight or I'll talk to my house but"

The actual message made a lot more sense, I promise. Haha.

Have fun in Busan, baby.

It's all over the news now, so we can talk about it here. Glenn's back in Busan, South Korea this week for a port call. He was last there in October 2008 right after he joined VAW-115. He said he promises to take his camera with him this time. Right, Mr??? Take pictures, please.

I won't be visiting him at this port call, cause well, it's Korea. I've got my eyes on a bigger prize if you know what I mean.

I am excited about skyping with Glenn and getting to talk on the phone a little more. He's excited about beer and land, I'm sure. Just make sure you get back on that boat, Mr, so I can see you at the next port call!

US Officials: Might send carrier to Korea

WASHINGTON — The U.S. is considering dispatching the massive aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the waters where North Korea allegedly sank a South Korean warship, defense officials said Wednesday.
The deployment of the nuclear-powered carrier, one of the world's largest warships, would represent a major show of force by the U.S., which has vowed to protect South Korea and is seeking to blunt aggression from North Korea...

U.S. weighs sending carrier to Korean peninsula
WASHINGTON --  As tensions escalate on the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. is weighing whether to deploy the massive aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the Yellow Sea, where North Korea allegedly sank a South Korean warship, U.S. defense officials said.
Such a deployment would be a show of force by the U.S., which has vowed to protect South Korea and is seeking to blunt aggression from North Korea. An international investigation last month blamed North Korea for torpedoing the Cheonan warship in March, killing 46 South Korean sailors...

We'll see how the rest of the year turns out for our men and women out there. Stay safe!
