5 Months

My tiny baby boy,

Other parents know what they are talking about when they say that time passes SO fast! It is true. It's hard for me to remember life without you. You are our booger butt, our baby boy, our little man and our Mr. President.

You continue to have a laid back personality and contagious smile. I would do anything and really do to get you to show me that big smile. It warms my heart and makes me fall deeper in love with you every time I see it.

17 Weeks

We gave you your first hair cut this month to get rid of that crazy long hair that was just barely holding on since you were born. The haircut instantly made you look older and less like my teeny tiny baby, but every day you become more aware, more outgoing and more curious of the world around you. I want you to discover the world, but to stay safe, little man. The more you see the world, the more I realize how many things there are that can hurt you and how important daddy and I's job is. 

18 Weeks

You still don't take very good naps, but you are sleeping well at night. Just a visit here or there from Daddy or I. You have learned to stop needing a nap right after we get home from daycare though which is nice. I only think about quitting my job once a week now. I miss you all the time when we are apart.

19 Weeks

You are getting stronger every day and you are rolling on to your side. Every once and awhile you will roll from your stomach to your back. One night, you scared us by waking up crying and screaming. You had fallen asleep on your arm and I think it fell asleep and started tingling. I'm sorry, love, there wasn't anything we could do! Pretty soon, you are going to be very mobile! You love mirrors and playing with rings these days, too. Everything seems to be headed towards your mouth.

Unassisted sitting at 5 months!

I love being a mom and it really is the hardest job that anyone can have. I can't wait to see even more of your personality come out. Those baby blue eyes (that I never expected a child of my to have) greet me every morning along with a smile. Life is good, baby boy.

Reunited Tomorrow!

This picture was taken in 2008 at Megan's wedding just days before I moved to Japan. It was the last time we were all together. We have all seen each other here or there but never all at the same time in 5 years. 

That is, until tomorrow! Three planes will carry 5 of us from three states to California. I am beyond excited. I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up thinking about it. Love these girls. Miss these girls!

Oh and don't worry, baby boy will be in good hands with daddy and Mimi. Gonna miss him too!

Happy Birthday Ali!

Happy Birthday! I can't wait to see you and YOUR little man in just two weeks. I love you for letting us all come visit the same weekend so that we can love on your little man together and all of us girls can be in the same place for the first time in FIVE years. That's right, this mama is going on a vacation to visit that new mama. Along with 4 of my closest friends. We're renting a mini van. On the opposite coast! Without Lincoln. I get giddy excited thinking about and then terrified two seconds later. Daddy will do great. I can't wait to see you! Have a wonderful birthday, Ali! SEE YOU SOON!

Cereal

We started Lincoln on solid food last week. We give him oatmeal mixed with breast milk about once a day. Usually along with his last meal. I noticed when he got a bottle or ate a lot before bedtime, he would sleep better so we decided to try it out. He wasn't so sure at first, but after the first day or two, he got the hang of opening his mouth. We're still working on the tongue not pushing all the food back out. I'm not sure we got as great of pictures as when Brooke tried cereal, but I think they're still pretty great.

 I can't believe he is going to be 6 months old in 3 weeks!

Virginia BEACH

We live so close to the beach, but we don't go very often unfortunately. Probably less now that we have   a baby, but when we do go, our friends live right on the beach so it very convenient to meet them just down the street from their house. We took Lincoln to the beach for the first time a few weeks ago. He was pretty tired and wouldn't take a nap in the shade, but was pretty mellow still. He's a laid back guy and I'm grateful for that!

Be Careful

You might just die a little. At how cute my little man is!

Are you tired of photos of Lincoln yet? Too bad, cause Grandma's not. We took Lincoln swimming for the first time on Saturday. My little froggy! He really seemed to enjoy it. It probably helped that he fell asleep on the way to the pool and was a happy boy when he woke up.

We have a pool play date on Wednesday and I hope the weather is nice so I can take him swimming again. Unfortunately with out Daddy this time.

I love this little guy! Side note, we used a cloth diaper as a swim diaper and yes, it absorbed a lot of water, but it also contained what it need to contain which was a success!

Miss Clara Lynn Johnson was born in to this world this morning at 11:11 am. My BFF has a second little girl to teach how to be an amazing woman! I can't wait to meet her in just about a month.
