Sorry baby, but these are kinda funny

Glenn finally was able to send me pictures of him in his flight gear and protective mask. They're actually pretty funny. Funny now that I know he is better and after hearing how ridiculous the situation was. Glenn said he was glad he didn't have an oxygen mask emergency. Do you take off the mask? Put the O2 mask over the other mask? Who knows?!

I've been spending the weekend with my girlfriends from college and I leave for Japan on Monday morning. I've actually been quite anxious to get back to Japan because I feel very out of the loop over here. I don't get word from other wives and the emails they receive from their husbands. When Glenn was in quarantine, I heard nothing and it stressed me out. I also can't wait to see Stella bear! I did not expect to feel this way at all because I didn't feel this way when i was home last fall, but I don't think I knew any better last fall. I only knew what Glenn told me (which Glenn would probably tell you is better) but in Japan I hear rumors and word from everyone else. Soon enough!

I'M FREE!

To quote Glenn's email, he's "FREE". He's out of quarantine and just has to wear a mask for a few more days, but he finally has access to a computer, yay!

Thanks for all the emails and well-wishes for Glenn. He's getting better!

Swine Flu

I got this email from Glenn today. Let's hope he gets better soon!

Hey babe. Guess who has the swine flu…. IT’S ME! H1N1 BABY! Weird, huh. No wonder I felt like shit. I’m in quarantine now, and they’re saying I’ll be here for 4 or 5 days. Shitty. Oh well. No need to worry, it’s no big deal, they just don’t want it spreading to everyone. Just wanted to let you know. They didn’t have a room for me tonight, so they put me with a chief in the “Isolation Ward.” Apparently I’ll have a room to my self starting tomorrow, but that may mean I don’t have a computer. Difficult to say. I’ll keep you updated.

Swine Flu Hits Home (not me though)

Glenn sent me this today:

On Jun 17, it became known that a military person at U.S. Naval Air Facility Atsugi (Yamato and Ayase cities) has been infected with H1N1 flu. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare decided to report the case to World Health Organization.

According to the ministry, Atsugi’s is the first case that has been found H1N1 positive inside U.S. Forces installations in Japan. The military patient has already recovered and his family members have had no symptoms. The quarantine period for him ended on Jun. 16.

Awesome. Glenn told me not to die so I'm going to work on that.
