A Fuji-san Fir: VAW-115 Christmas Tree 2010

The annual Officer's Club tree decorating was last week. Since the guys were gone and it was just the ladies/Mike decorating the tree, we decided to decorate it with pictures of us! Specifically, our accomplishments this year: climbing Mt. Fuji and winning Bad Girl Games.
We made a trail up the mountain and even a tiny torii gate. We covered the top with snow and even included a rising sun.
My favorite ornaments were the climbing sticks that we made out of chopsticks. They even had the little bells.
Don't forget our Badgirl Games trophy- the infamous leg lamp!
 Merry Christmas Liberty Bells!

Birthday Shenanigans Part I

I don't think the pictures need much explaining. We had dinner at La Ricetta, an Italian restaurant in Zama, with the folks who couldn't make it to Oktoberfest the next day. Pre-dinner cocktails followed by dinner drinks and then to the O'Club afterwards. Thanks for a fun night, ladies!

Pictures below courtesy of Heather. Thanks!

  Shots with the Mommas!

I spy Captain Gardner!! (the CO of the base) Haha! Thanks for killing the giant spider for us, sir!

Fun times!

My favorite bartenders

Tommy-san and Maki-san work at the O'Club. They work almost every night of the week except Mondays. Now when I go in, they grab my glass (we have glasses there with the squadron logo and our names engraved on them) and make me a Sapphire and tonic. They know my drink! Everybody knows my name! It's great. :)
Tommy-san making us some tequila shots with cranberry chasers. Also, shots of Patron are only $5. Filling your mug (1 liter) with wine is only $7! I love the O'Club.
Maki-san testing out the new VAW-115 beer tap.
Also notice Tommy and Maki's nametags. They have one for each squadron!

When the boys are away, the girls will play

Since the guys are gone, it pretty much seems like a women's college campus around here, but with kids too. When we go to the O'Club (aka Officer's Club aka cheap bar on base) we are typically caught off guard if there are men there. Which is probably bad because they are always creepy.

So we find many ways to keep ourselves busy. Many times it is a few of these:
Nicole, Marietta, Gizelle and Me

Or sometimes it is a fun restaurant. For Rona's farewell we went to Korean BBQ- so yummy! They serve you raw meat and you cook it on an little grill in the middle of the table along with veggies and other deliciousness.
Or sometimes we get really desperate and it resorts to this. Chair races at the O'Club. Or maybe we're not missing the guys so much and drinking a little too much! I don't recommend the chair races- they get pretty violent!
