Chigiri-e

On Thursday I went to a class at the Art Center on base to learn a traditional Japanese art called Chigiri-e. It uses washi paper (think soft tissue paper) and glue mostly. The teacher had different patterns we could follow and I chose to do the fish. The finally result ends up looking more like a watercolor painting, but it is really small pieces of torn paper. It took me about 3 hours to make and it's not the greatest, but it was fun. I might go back next month and make another one.
